Are there any limitations on the Gigabyte I may not be seeing? Seems like a really good deal. Starting to shop for an i7 build...

There are really none comparing it to the MSI that has more ports for audio and USB 3.1 & type-c not much of a difference unless you're in the market for looks. Plus the GIGABYTE board supports a higher O.C speed for RAM DDR4 3866(O.C.)
Both boards can overclock as long as you plan on getting an unlocked processor and make sure you get a Kaby Lake CPU unless the MOBO supports Skylake out the box, you won't have any way to update the BIOS unless you have a spare Kaby Lake CPU.

I have had good luck with gigabyte boards and their warranties.

Borked one completely and absolutely once- it was fixed and returned.

Vaguely gave minimum information and the old phrase : "it worked yesterday when i turned it on."

Just do your due diligence research on compatible ram.

Not sure if this is really a slickdeal or not? I need a board for an i7-7700k... might just wait.

I just read that Microsoft wont ever update Windows 7 to support Gen 7 processors, and as for Gen 6 they will only update for security issues. I'm going to have to rethink my whole build now because I need to stay on Windows 7...

Do /not/ buy this board if you want to stream 4K, eg Netflix. The only true advantage of Kaby Lake is its exclusive support for 4K streaming yet so many companies have released 270 boards without ports that take advantage of the capability... rendering them very little of an advantage over the 170. This is one of those crippled boards.

I just started shopping for PC parts. Any comments on the MSI board as far as value/performance? My processor won't be here for a couple weeks at least. Is this worth jumping on at this point?
