Scotts - Miracle Gro has been partnered with Monsanto for a couple decades now in case that matters to anyone. Not trying to TC OP.... just giving info as many people aren't aware and loathe Monsanto. As an alternative, you can check Craigslist or your local nursery for mushroom compost or many have a topsoil/compost blend that works amazing (assuming the compost is legit). It's generally WAY cheaper too if buying a cu yard or more vs buying bags.... AND you're supporting your local mom and pop businesses.
I bought a couple bags of this stuff last weekend and was not impressed. It's not screened very well. It had just as much mulch in it as it did soil. I will not be buying any more.
Master Gardener here.

Please only use this stuff for filler. I actually use this stuff as mulch most of the time.

If you're making a bed or something you need to get other stuff with this.

Spagnum Moss. The big 6CF bag is around $11.

Mushroom Compost. It's around $5.

Lastly I like to add some Black Kow as well. It's composted manure. $5 for a 50lb bag.

Probably forgetting something. Smilie

I agree. Bought 3 bags, and it's basically fine mulch. For actual planters or gardens, I would go with something local. Just check out the actual HD reviews for many others with the same opinion.
