The Asus is IPS so it's a brighter screen but also prone to bad backlight bleed. Its a 60hz that can be overclocked to 100.

The AOC is VA so no real issues with backlight bleed but the colors and viewing angles won't be quite as good. It is 100hz natively. This also has a much more pronounced curve.

Also, people debate which panel type is better. Personally I prefer this one because 1. It will have richer blacks 2. I'll be the only one looking at it so viewing from the side doesn't matter 3. Don't have to worry about bleed at the potential cost of ghosting 4. Exact color accuracy isn't important to me because I won't be using it for professional work / etc. Just gaming

People have been complaining that this monitor has severe color distortion and that the curvature does not fix this issue. They are reporting distortions just as bad as TN panels. I was really hopeful this would be the perfect balance between a little sacrifice in color reproduction and response time for better contrast and no BLB, but as from the initial user reviews it seems that the color loss is quite severe and if you're picky with your monitor colors you're better off spending a little more for the Acer or Asus IPS monitors.

Have this monitor, have been experiencing a weird flicker that happens pretty much exclusively on the desktop. According to reviews this is a problem with Nvidia that needs to be addressed via driver update but I'm several versions ahead of the update that's been said to fix it and it's still happening so keep an eye out if you pull the trigger.
