So I have little interest in singapore but a ton in Japan. What would happen if I just left the flight and stayed in Japan?

The remainder of the itinerary would be cancelled. Also don't try this if you check luggage

Would that remove my return flight? Or since it has a layover in Japan too can I just go there. Because it is a 300 dollar savings doing it this way.
