Thanks OP. Was considering getting the my book duo and taking out the drives with 10% amazon moving coupon then selling the enclosure which would be approximating the same price with only a 2 year warranty and some hassle with ebay listing and the drives locked to the enclosure business. This removes all of that and adds more to the warranty for less total price.

With the drive encrypted to the enclosure, people still buy those POS? I've still got a few enclosures from drives I've shucked.

Page tells me that my EDU EMAIL address is not valid, but it is.

They also sell NAS servers, which have great reviews: My Cloud Pro Series PR4100

Some are bundled with hard drives, for example PR4100 with 32TB storage is $1055. Do we know if those drives are WD 8TB RED NAS?

If so, it's actually good value for the bundle, NAS server is only around $200 ($320 deal price at WD if bought separately, $500 elsewhere).

youve' tempted me. I was hoping to pair this with a Synology or QNap, for their software. Not sure how robust the WD OS is - i know the former two have ACD sync, which is actually what i need.

interesting on the server. wondering as well if it's loaded with reds and if they carry same warranty. server alone selling on eBay for 500 new. take the drives out and even better a deal after selling it.
