Bestbuy says they're 800 lumens, so given that, I'd say 2nd gen.

Could also be that the wifi / zigby portion of the bulb was refurbished.

In case anyone else is wondering "why" this was asked

Quote from from HowToGeek website :
With the 2nd-generation Hue Bridge, I can tell Siri to "turn on the living room lights". The first generation can't do these things.
Of course, if you're not big on HomeKit and Siri, or you're an Android user, the new features in the 2nd-generation Hue Bridge are pretty much worthless. At that point, there's no harm in getting the 1st-generation Hue Bridge, especially considering that newer 2nd- and 3rd-generation Hue bulbs work just fine with the 1st-generation Hue Bridge.

True, and with the bulbs, 1st gen are 600 lumens, and 2nd gen are 800. that's like the difference between 40 watt and 60 watt incandescent bulbs.

First generation bulbs work with Siri and HomeKit. You just need a second gen bridge for that functionality.

However, you don't need a second gen bridge to control your lights with Alexa.

Unless I'm mistaken, you can tell these are second gen white bulbs because they are rounded. First gen hue lux bulbs were the same shape as the A19 color bulbs.

If you're talking about these bulbs https://www.amazon.com/Philips-45...B00TZ904Q2 then you are mistaking regular LED bulbs with HUE home automation LED bulbs (which is for this refurb deal)

i believe this only applies to which gen the bridge is. i have the 1st gen bridge and i can use alexa to turn on/off my bedroom lights (2 bulbs) as a set. not sure if it's due to alexa or bridge software. i think bulb gen only matters based off how many lumens you want and if you want better color reproduction for the rgb bulbs.

edit: i confirmed that it's in both the alexa app and hue app that lets me group my hues together into a set. there must have been some software update to add these functionalities. the only function i'm aware of that the 1st gen hue bridge does NOT support are mood settings.
