amazon reviews [amazon.com] say they are average.

3/5 at Amazon would be below average in my opinion.
Lots of 1 star reviews.

Huh? They don't hold a charge at all - they're not wireless. They do take AAA batteries for the noise cancellation.

I had a pair of these and they were totally decent for cheap noise cancelling headphones. If you're an audiophile you probably won't be happy (ever, based on most posts I've read by headphone nerds) but if you just want to listen to some music or a movie or a podcast on a plane you could definitely do much worse. I got two or three years out of mine before they broke - the twisty part of the arm that lets them lie flat in the case snapped off. I got mine for about this price and for me they were worth it.

Mine broke too at the arm, it's worth it if it's free otherwise you're better off spending a few dollars more for a better one. You're throwing your money away

Nope, definitely stay away. Very low quality materials.

Wasn't Nakamichi a respectable brand back in the day? I remember Nakamichi audio as an option in Lexus cars. Now all I see is cheap headphones on SD.

They go BK and get scooped up by some Chinese company who just whores out the name now?

Nakamichi isn't even a brand anymore, it's just a name anyone can license to slap on any item they want.

I'd steer clear.

These aren't too bad. Definitely worth $10-$15.

The major problem is that the ear cups are a little smaller than Bose so it does rest on the ears a little bit for adults. They are perfect for kids.
