I bought 3 of these when they were on rebate a few months ago in CT. Figured it would be smart to get a few more to go with the two that were already in the house when I bought 2 years ago.

Are these rechargeable? It's a great price if you can recharge them

If you need them to be rechargeable for a commercial use I'd buy something else. If you want them to be rechargeable for your home use, don't buy into the fire service company BS about expiration dates. I've used 10 year old extinguishers with no ill effects. My current home extinguishers are 11 years old.

What do you do in your home that might require multiple uses of a fire extinguisher?

What does it typically cost to have an extinguisher of this size professionally recharged? Hopefully, it is nowhere close to the selling price of a new one.

The last recharge and pressure testing on a 12-year-old FE cost me about $30. You might find someone that works out of a service truck to be cheaper. This price point is where it's easier to replace - maybe go haggle a few bucks out of a service company to hand over your old ones if it's worth your time.
I rotate mine thru my trunk mount for a week about every 2yrs just to restore the loft of the dry chemicals. You could do the same if you just secure the FE from flying around your trunk while driving - I have a lovely reversed ding in my rear quarter panel as a lesson from not securing an empty propane tank.
