Adorama keeps lowering the price and it's a nice deal if it's your thing. I tried one of these out at a local guitar shop but put it back down less than 30 seconds later. It felt awkward to me and nowhere near as comfortable as a Fender Mustang bass which, to me, is a better short-scale bass.

UM,.... What? Some guy you know is the ultimate authority on guitars? Not likely.

BTW, I've never seen a guitar worth owning at a Goodwill.

I love this guitar. Good solid build, nice action right out of the box, fun playing with all the options on the pickups. Seems to me there's no lack of low-end with the lipstick pickups, but hey, I'm just a guitarist screwing around with a bass.
I was a little surprised to see that this bass is virtually the same size as my Jazz Bass, and even a little heavier. I've had a hard time finding measurements--everybody writes about the neck scale length, but they sort of gloss over the rest. So: I measure this bass 46 1/2 inches from top to bottom, just like a Jazz bass. Body is slightly bigger than the J-bass. Neck is much the same. The short scale is due to the bridge being parked halfway up the body (well, almost) and sure enough, the spacing on the frets is considerably closer. I measure 2 1/8 inches less from nut to 12th fret. That does indeed make it easier for this guitarist to play

Are you two the same person because the language style and punctuation is almost identical.

I just bought one about two months ago. I also own a Fender American Deluxe P bass. This is quickly becoming one of my favorites. The sounds available from the Seymour Duncan lipstick pickups and the 5 way selector (7 with push/pull volume knob) are all very different.

This thing needs to get sub 300 so they can finally clear the stock. High quality bass for the price, it's just too weird. maybe if you could swap the lipsticks for jazz pickups it would be interesting.
