We all know about the standard $100 gift card when pre-ordering the Galaxy S8 thru Target, and than activating it on a DPP. No problem.

I was then reading thru my confirmation email, and stumbled across the following paragraph:

Quote :
What other benefits can I receive as a REDcard guest?

When you arrive in stores and complete the activation of your new device, make sure to take advantage of these unique REDcard benefits

Complete your activation and sign up to get a $15 Target electronic Gift Card for every 3 months that you remain active under your carrier agreement. Under a 24 month agreement, this could total up to $120 in Target electronic GiftCards. For a 30 month term, your value could be up to $150 in Target Electronic GiftCards. For an 18 month term, your value could be up to $90 in Target electronic GiftCards. In order to qualify, you will be required to pay for taxes and down payment (if required by your carrier) with your REDcard at the time of your phone purchase. You will also need to share your name, email and phone number. See terms and conditions for more details.2
I was wondering if this was true and would work in conjunction with the advertised $100 gift card. I spoke with a Target Mobile rep, who admitted he was not sure. I sent him a copy of the email, and he followed up with his district manager. The district manager confirmed that yes, as long as you meet the stated requirements, you WILL receive a $15 every 3 months that the phone remains activated, thru the entire term of your DPP (18-30 months depending on carrier).

Note... in order to get the recurring gift card every 3 months, you MUST do the following:

- Preorder from Target's website.
- Pay any taxes and down payment when you pick up the phone, and pay for them on your Redcard.
- Leave the phone on a Device Payment Plan (IOW, do NOT pay it off)

I believe Sprint, Verizon and AT&T are all doing 24-month DPPs, which means $120 in gift cards for all 3 carriers (as long as you stay on the DPP for the full term).

$220 in gift cards from Target seems to be the best deal out there.

The BB deal is $716 financed, pay tax on $840.

The Target deal is $840 financed, pay tax on $840 and get a Target $100 gift card. If you have a Red Card, you may qualify for the other gift cards if you use it to pay the taxes and the downpayment (if any). You get 5% off of the downpayment if you use your RC.

So BB is the better deal. Unless you have a Red Card, use it to pay the taxes, get 5% off of the downpayment and qualify for the additional Target gift cards.

I do have RedCard. Can I apply the $100 GC as down payment?

that's what I'm debating too. The thing we would be missing though is the VR headset and the opportunity to buy their 99 dollar package with sd card and headphones

My target didn't get any Verizon s8s from the preorder so I didn't get one today. Don't know when they will get them. Super bummed.

I picked up my phone today, and the rep was clueless about the quarterly $15 GC and told me to contact Verizon. I figured that probably wasn't the solution, so did some digging on the Target site. I think this is what you need to do:

https://contactus.target.com/Cont...earch+help

On that page, use the dropdown to select "Mobile Phone Quarterly Gift Card Form"

Hopefully this does it!
