I find its only useful at this point for voice commands.

Seriously considering this... It's not ideal but there are a lot of open source projects that use the Kinect platform to do augmented reality stuff (sand tables, wall pong). The XBONE Kinect has improved sensors that allow much higher details and capabilities. $30 you say...

EDIT - You have to buy an additional kit to connect to PC that costs more than the Kinect. Pass...

I got this around Black Friday for $40 from GS. I don't need one anymore but this is a good deal.

Is it true that Kinect functionality has been stripped from the Xbox one? I am also reading that there are less games coming out that use Kinect. True? Is it a waste of money at this point?

I'm wondering this too. I did read that the upcoming Xbox Scorpio is compatible with Kinect via a USB adapter so that's worth something I guess.

No idea and future game support is pretty much none. I ordered one just to maybe play Dance Central and that's it. For games, the Xbox 360 Kinect has far more and better titles. Also heard voice commands and Skype chat work really well, so I may try those too. At this price, it essentially cost nothing with my credits at GS so I give it a go.

I strictly use mine for voice chat. It is very good at it. I don't have to use headphones to communicate with friends while playing. That alone is worth the $30 price tag!

They don't get a lot of feedback from your TV speakers? I'm interested in getting one for voice commands and chat.

Currently have a mini mic plugged into the controller which works but isn't the best.

i assume this needs an accessory purchase to work with xbox one S? i remember initially MS was giving out some adapters for free to folks who purchased the original bundles.

Only with a $40 adapter. They were giving these out for free, for a period, but that has expired.
