Got a great deal on of these new from the Dell Outlet not long ago (discounted + Amex offer). Build quality was great - all brushed aluminum. Keyboard is nice. Screen is IPS, but colors aren't great (low sRGB coverage). Unfortunately, something seemed to be wrong with the cooling on the unit I had - fan was noisy and ran more than it should. Stupid Dell ignored my repeated requests for an exchange rather than refund, so would now have to pay $250 more for same unit. Nice laptop, though.

Not that I want either, but the other Dell Touch 13" with i7 is only $10 more. Don't know if they are any open box versions on that one or not.

I think I am going with the Acer (non-SSD) deal at Costco. You can't beat a 4-year warranty.

I think this was $550 from Office Depot a couple weeks ago. $450 with a laptop trade in.

Inspiron is the lowest of dell models
True, but there are definitely Inspirons that are lower than this... such as the 3000 series which often times just have 32GB eMMC flash storage and 2GB of soldered-on RAM. This is the 7000 series which is as high as you can go without being the next level up, the XPS line.

I always recommend people upgrade the Intel 3165 card in here with the 8265. It's a really easy and inexpensive upgrade ($15-25.) When people talk about the flaky WiFi on these, it's just the fact that it's a 1x1 card, the same class that comes on other cheap laptops.
