Plus your energy/gas company may give you a rebate but you can typically get these new, on ebay all day for $180-215..

If you live in the Cleveland area. Check with Columbia Gas about an energy audit. It's $199 no taxes and includes a Nest 3rd Gen with free installation.

How's this a deal? They go for 199 when it's a solid deal!

If you have a use for the Kohl's cash, then it's $180, not a bad deal, but not screaming.

Just FYI, if you search your state's power company website, most of them have great deals/incentives to buy the energy efficient thermostats.

Georgia Power for instance sells nest 3rd gen. at $150 each.

Might want to check Wal-Mart on brickseek before you order it. I got a couple 3rd gen nest t-stats for $145 each. Had to drive about 40 miles to get them but saved over $200 so I'd say it was worth it. Probably a long shot since basically every store near me was normal price but worth a quick check.

I was checking to see if my system is compatible by checking my wires. I know Nest works best with a C-wire and I do see a blue wire behind my panel. However, it's rolled up and not connected to the thermostat. I'm not totally comfortable digging around my furnace so does anyone know if a rolled up wire generally means it's already connected to the other end?

Probably not connected. Its pretty easy to hook up unless you're not comfortable at all with any electrical work. I have an older furnace and a newer furnace. Both were similar in how they hooked up.

I actually just checked it to find the rebate for a friend. It is 220 with instant rebate of 100. so 120 until 4/22.

I was not able to find rebate information so I am thinking to get the 100, you have to buy through them.

looks like all local big box retailers have reduced their prices to $219 on this one for now. May be better to see other discount coupons that can be stacked on other retailer stores than getting Kohl's Cash for using it on overpriced items at Kohls.
