IMO these Verizon offerings are better (for me) than the Sprint plans Ringplus used to offer simply due to the far superior Verizon coverage in my area. T-mobile, on the other hand, is as bad, if not worse, than Sprint.

Maybe it was sold?

They seem to be independent of R+ though: http://www.prepaidphonenews.com/2...dtalk.html

This article is from December which predates that fall of Ringplus. So I don't think this is is some sort of reincarnation of Ringplus. Those thumbing down are doing so because they are upset with R+ most likely.

Mouse over that URL, and you'll find the secret info that Slickdeals owns both RingPlus, and SpeedTalk-- and FreedomPop, Lowes,Sears, .......
It's just a tracking URL, so that SpeedTalk can see where a response is coming from.

I understand some folks being upset with RingPlus, just like I understand some folks being upset with FreedomPop. In my opinion, these SpeedTalk deals are attractive offers if they match your needs.
The deal is good-- don't confuse the deal with the route of the announcement.

Here is the URL, that I found not from Slickdeals clickthrough, but from the Speedtalk site itself....this is a tracking URL from Slickdeals?

When I am on Speedtalk's actual site, this is the URL I see on the contact page:
https://www.speedtalkmobile.com/e.../contactUs

Maybe on those specific "club plans" sent to former Ringplus customers, Karl (former R+ guy) is getting some sort of referral for - which is why you might see that in the URL.

Of course, all of this is speculation.

What is not speculation is $20/mo for unlimited talk/text and 1G LTE on Verizon towers is a great deal!

Exactly. It seems logical that a company (Speedtalk) wants to see 'where' a potential new customer contact is coming from: Chageing the URL for each place the promo is publicized makes it easy to track the effectiveness of those placements.

I agree that $20/month for that Verizon-based offer is really attractive! I think 2 of these Speedtalk offers are the first plans they've offered on VZW, and they apparently want to get noticed quickly.

I use their SIM for my GPS tracker. $5/month plan can't be beat. Been using it for 3 months now with no issues at all. Their customer service is very good also.
