The short throw 2150 is best, but the 2050 price is so much nicer.

I have a 3000 lumen benq pj. Really handy if the sun is out and you don't have a darkened room. 4000 lumens would be even better for a multi use pj set up. Unlike some of the 100 dollar pj wonders that crop up here frequently benq lumens are not fake.

Why do these forever hover at the $500 mark, never under? Don't understand why these 1080p projectors don't dip in price for the longest.

I have the 3050. I originally upgraded from a PTAX100U to a w1070, but returned the 1070 for the 3050.

Supply and demand. As long as people keep paying what they've been going for, there's no reason for the price to go down. That's how it works for everything.

How frequently does the HT2050 refurbished pop up at this price?

I'm planning on snapping one up for my just started home theater build, but would like to put off the purchase until construction is complete...

Could you elaborate that? Don't get your point. Do you mean 3D moving? Or you mean 3D modeling using projector with structured light & scanner and then do 3D printing?
