You can easily construct similar units by breaking down the freestanding units at 1/4 the cost.

Scanned the HD website quick, but I didn't see exactly what you are talking about. Which freestanding units can you cannibalize to make this type of rack?

I can attest that these things are a godsend. Great for storing the "where should I put this thing" stuff.

Agree. I use min to store lumber and it's very sturdy.

Essentially any type of sem-adjustable metal storage rack provided you can cut the corner supports to length and then figure out a way to mount them to the ceiling (iffy).

You can use any of this style of shelf. The legs can be cut to length and come in 2 halves already. You basically just turn it upside down and anchor it to a stud. My garage has exposed framing making it super easy. If you have finished ceiling just need to find a stud.

lol @ "1/4 the cost"

The versa racs are 42" high, your rack is 73" tall, divided by two = 36.5" high.

So the versa racks have more than the sq ft area, and also "taller" than your $176/2 solution, not to mention the time and money to cut the frames and buy additional angle bracing for attaching to a ceiling.

I bought 2 with a couple of the off branded hooks. I hope they fit. Thanks for the deal! Garage needs this desperately. Building a 200 sq ft shed this summer....this might be easier than a loft.
