I need to grab my friend with a costco card. Don't want the 5% markup. Or I'll join just for this. Or PM to BB but I'd miss the Costco perks.

Had this TV since May of last year, after returning a KS8000. Still amazed by the picture quality. Also, the new beta firmware included on screen menus that work with a remote, no longer need the tablet to change settings or anything really, if that put you off before.

What are your pro/cons over the KS8000?

Wowsers. I just bought one before the Super Bowl for $1550 from Costco, which unfortunately is a couple weeks outside the Price Rewind window from Citi Visa. Drat. Since they're probably not in stock at any local warehouses, I can't buy a new one and then return it on the old receipt (since they only price-adjust for 30 days).

UPDATE: Just called my local warehouse and they're getting more in on Wednesday and they have confirmed I can return it on the old receipt. Noice!

I tried a KS8000 for a couple of days before realizing that unless you watch fullscreen 16:9 content (i.e. TV shows, videogames, sports) then the gray letterbox bars and glowing bands that are endemic to edge-lighting made it a non-starter for my usage, mostly movies in a dark room. Spent 60% more for the P65 and other than some occasional flakiness, I haven't regretted the purchase. Until now. I can't believe these are getting fire-saled like this considering there's not supposed to be a 2017 P-series model.

Are you trying to use the sliders? If so, yes, that's a PITA. However, if you tap the number at the end, it pops up a dialog with incremental up/down buttons. I found out about that after expressing annoyance about the slippery sliders on the AVS Forum owners thread.
