This has been this price for a while. Barnes and noble are also selling this for 79 in store.

I have this exact player. Works well as a starter player. I am currently looking for an "upgrade", not sure what I want, but this has been a good workhorse for us.

I hopped on this a few months back, used it about a week and upgraded to a LP-120. If you are going to use this more than a handful of times, buy something a little nicer. I had problems with skipping on new vinyl, a spec of dirt that killed a needle, etc.

Bugger. My console is 14" deep. So close. Still searching for one to drop into my old 50's console.

A buddy of mine recently bought this and is having speed issues where the turntable turns too fast and the music plays slightly fast. it seems to be a common issue. I'd stay away from this one and either buy used or look at something a little better without quality issues. lots of great turntables to be had if you can stretch up to the $180-$200 range.

Pro-ject or other minimalist table; you can skip the interim step of better quality automatics.

Overkill... no vinyl enthusiast needs 1200 with m44 needles. Unless they plan on touching the record while it's playing. Almost impossible to buy 1200 brand new that's under $1500.

A bit tongue in cheek but the investment would make for a more pleasurable experience and it's a durable tank of a turntable that holds its value well beyond purchase. And may even appreciate in value.

A used tech 1200 drop about 40% in value. This is not the most bang for your buck as far as tanks go. Pioneer 1000 is half the price and a used one still sells at 30-25% less. I love M44s myself but it's always too heavy on the low freq side. Shure m97 would be the one most audiophile would enjoy.
