I was going to say it was a good deal if it was Blu-ray. The problem with it being iTunes is that there is no way to physically throw the Hobbit movies in the trash and only keep the LOTR ones.

Try D2D on Vudu. Your total will be $12+tax for all 6 movies. That's hell of a deal.

I might bite on this. I'd prefer Google Play though, but I suppose I can settle with just watching on my iPad and Apple TV.

+1 good deal but I'd wait to see Apple's 4K strategy this year.

God it's so sad but true. I'm still upset that 10 years later they sucked more than the first three and they are such a better story!

I know what you mean. itunes is so inconvienient. I use Vudu all the time. Then on the other hand I have been sitting on around $60 in itunes gift cards for years because I never find anything usefull to spend them on. No way I'm buying an apple tv or attaching a pc to my tv just to watch some movies that are basically trapped in an overly limited app. My Daughter even has an iphone and isn't interested in the gift cards.

Any reason Amazon wouldn't try to price match this?

I got LotR extended blu-ray set for $26 in December from Amazon. It beckons disbelief that people would pay this much for digital licenses on a transient platform like iTunes.

This.

My old LoTR extended BR did not come with uv and I only need that series as I have the blu-ray Hobbit trilogy already.
