Is is a sad state of affairs when we get excited about a deal on an HD that has gone up in price over the last few months. This may be a good deal today since SSD prices have inflated, but otherwise no.

Seems like a good price. How cheap have these gotten in the past?

$110, but not recently. There is still upward pressure on SSD prices due to higher demand for NAND.

Dipped to $130, then $114 on black friday. Otherwise it hasn't been below $145 in the past year.

So what's the verdict? Worth biting at $135?

I can afford to wait if prices will get lower again, but I keep reading about SSD prices going up right now...

EDIT: Plus I pay tax on Amazon, not on this eBay deal. So that Amazon price would have been $125 after tax for me...

Well, I came across the deal because I need a 500g SSD now. At 135, this highly-rated drive is as cheap or cheaper than drives with much lower specs. As Mischlep points out, there's no reason to expect a price drop soon.

my thoughts as well. with tax on Amazon, max I save is 9 bucks. Leaning towards jumping on this deal. $87 on the past deal on 250gb is not bad, this is double the capacity.
