Spectrum may or may not provision the SB6141 for more than that, but no 8x4 modem (the ones rated at 343) will be provisioned for much more than 150-175. 343 is a theoretical max. If you anticipate going to 200mbps+, then the 6183 is an excellent choice at an excellent price. Unless you intend to upgrade or your neighborhood has capacity issues, there isn't a compelling reason to upgrade.

Good price for a refurb, if it's factory refurb. Would get it except got the one on Woot a week or so ago for $5 more + ship.

currently have SB6141 on spectrum, paying for 100 down/10 up, getting 117 down/12 up

is there really any reason to switch to an SB6183 now or just wait to upgrade if i increase my speed that i pay for? i have read elsewhere that spectrum limits the SB6141 (and i think any 8x4 modem) to 100Mbps down rather than the full 343Mbps that the SB6141 is rated at.

Would this work With FIOS or Xfinitt? I believe they both need a Telephony & Docsis3.0 modem for the triple play (phone service) and those are usually pricey and seemingly rare..? I hate renting from these f@ckers

Reading reviews people say their ISP says their address may be in use. Will I need to worry about this and if yes, easy to resolve? Won't be able to test modem until a few months when I switch to new ISP

This modem I assume only works for Spectrum, i.e. cable modem, right? Can anyone please suggest a Wifi-Modem for AT&T U-verse?

Great! Picked one up. Stupid comcast forced to upgrade to their crappy ass gateway (DPC3941T) when I had my old arris modem claiming I wont get my paid speed even though I was getting my full speed just fine, then all of a sudden, I was getting throttled (found it very convenient that all of sudden I wasn't getting my speeds 250/15). So, I ended up switching and regret it to death, I usually get my own hardware, but the package I was in "included" the modem (even though I knew it was BS, but meh). Until recently, I switched my package and now pay the rental fee, so now I will get rid of their gateway and be happy with this.
