Seven near me, might be nice for power outages, but sounds dim for outdoor use.

The aluminum flashlight is nothing you can't get for free at Harbor Freight any day of the week. But the headlamp and batteries are certainly well worth the $1 if you can find this at your local Wallyworld.

Do note those are old school carbon zinc AAAs however. To be expected at this price point but just be aware that in addition to a much shorter run time, these batteries will not store as well as alkaline batteries.

There's been a huge display of these for a week or two at my local WM. Headlamp seems like a good buy for sure.

I've literally never found any of these local deals, quite frustrating.

Yep, and it's only a buck. Truth is that for many tasks 30 lumens is plenty.

OP suggests riding a bike at night. Not sure that'd be on my list of safe activities with so little light. Maybe walking to the bathroom... Wink

10 lumens more than the $1 headlamps walmart has everyday.

Saw them a few weeks ago for .99 but most of them wouldn't work. Better check before you buy one.
