Note 1: This is a fixed Bonus Rewards offer. Since there is mention of "separate payout" in the terms (see the terms in the online version of the in-store ad), this is not a points offer. The separate payout will be in the form of a separate Rewards Certificate. There will be no notice of the fixed Bonus Rewards amount earned in the Rewards Account until the separate Rewards Certificates are made available. The Rewards Certificates from separate payout offers are generally made available within 5 weeks after the offer ends.

Note 2: Per the terms of the program, Rewards earned -- and hence Rewards payouts -- are reduced by the extent the rewards purchase is paid for with Rewards, coupons or Merchandise Cards.

TERMS: Limit 2 rewards offers per member. Valid in-store, online, by phone or fax from 4/23/17 – 4/29/17 11:59 PM ET or while supplies last, whichever occurs first. Limit 2 offers per member. This offer cannot be combined with other Bonus Reward offers on the same or similar products and services. Allow up to 5 weeks after the promotion ends for Rewards to become available in your account. These rewards will be issued as a separate reward certificate from your Program reward certificate.

Can someone tell me what the "fixed bonus rewards" mean? Is the reward a check, visa card or store credit? Thank you

As noted in the OP:
"The separate payout will be in the form of a separate Rewards Certificate."
Rewards certificates may be redeemed on purchases (excluding all gift and prepaid cards) at Office Depot or OfficeMax US stores (including Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands), online or by phone.
Rewards certificates expire the last day of the month -- at 11:59 PM Eastern (daylight saving observed) -- 2 months following the month in which they are issued. The separate Rewards certificates for this offer should be issued in May which means they would expire July 31st.

In other words, you cannot roll rewards.

To be clear.. This does count towards April recycling Spending, but will not show up in the regular May rewards, but will probably show up in June just prior to the normal June Rewards date (5 weeks after April 29).. .

The problem with OD/OM rewards is you are taxed twice. For the Batteries, you get taxed on $14 ($15 after tax), and you get taxed again on the rewards spending side. The GOVT comes out the real winner. They charge you twice.

No tax charged if you use rewards to pay for shipping, food (snacks, kcups) or postage stamps.

Otherwise yes you do pay tax twice but u get back $20 and spend only $10. If you buy the batteries u would spend around $15 and get back about $24 and keep the batteries.

This was posted in the Duracell Quantum batteries offer thread:

Quote from abercrombieboy View Post :
I am confused by instructions, especially as it pertains to Note 3. I'm not sure if the terms have changed, but I have been doing this for a few times when the Duracell 100% Rewards offer is available, and I always paid for the purchase with Rewards, and got my Rewards certificate for the same amount (less 1 cent) a few weeks later.
I recall seeing similar posts in the past about rolling rewards into fixed/separate offers (what formerly was called Rewards Bucks) without penalty. Are the fixed/separate offers, such as this one, now a way to roll rewards?
