No their not, their a bait & switch site like the infamous Joe's AV. However, you can use them for price matching or price protection with a credit card.

Does anyone know if this model also suffers from the ghosting issues that seem to be reported on the more expensive 940D model?

I didn't know Sony had an X950D model, I know they have an X930D & an X940D with Full Array Backlight & over 100 dimming zones. But I thought the only thing higher than the X940D was their flagship model the Z9D series. Oh well, I could'be wrong, does the X950D also have FALD & what sizes does it come in?

Sorry, typo. I meant 940D

I almost jumped on the 940D eBay deal yesterday that pops up occasionally, but got scared off after reading about the ghosting issues.

the ghosting effect is similar between the two, unfortunately. it's a tiny bit better on the 850 but not by much.

No, you should've went for it & just purchased a 4/5-year SquareTrade warranty from Costco for $90 out the door. The 65X940D was on my shortlist when I was shopping for a new TV this past Christmas. Ended up getting the LG OLED65C6P for $2500 shipped & I love it & have had zero issues so far. My list was, 1. LG OLED65C6P, 2. Samsung UN65KS9800, 3. Sony XBR-65X940D, 4. Sharp LC-65N9000U, 5. Vizio P65-C1/LG 65UH8500. The Sony XBR-65Z9D would've been 2nd on my list, but it was way too expensive & in my opinion, the X940D looked just as good.
