I've checked RTINGS but can't quite tell: How does this compare to the KS8000?

I've been using the ks8000 and love it, I think 7000 should be close, but the lower models usually have some light bleed (from my experience)

All the references I can find online say it's "HDR Pro" and HDR10, so it should be true HDR.

Wouldn't the LG UH8500 at Fry's be a better deal?? https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/t/10060016

It is the upper model that competes against the 8000 Series from Samsung. It has better rtings.com review numbers across the board including for movies, TV, sports, HDR and more.

It is also $100 cheaper.

Of course if you don't have a Fry's nearby but there is a Best Buy close, and you don't want to wait for a shipped TV from Fry's.com, then maybe this makes sense. But it seems like an inferior TV.

Disclaimer: I am OP on the LG post but also shopping for a 55 inch and looking at these deals. Trying to decide.

Reading this review on Reviewed.com, they bring up the 60Hz refresh and mention it's fine for viewing all kinds of content... except blu-ray. Count me out.

The problem is these are not quantum dot like the ks8000 and thus not as good

I would definitely hold without a review to compare to KS8000. Generally speaking 7000 to 8000 is a downgrade and there's no pressing reasoning to jump on this until we know for sure. Even the MSRP is lower than it was for the KS8000. I'd wait for solid info

The MU8000 isn't as good as the KS8000, so I doubt the MU7000 is as good.

The MU8000 isn't even true hdr,

So the mu7000 is 100% NOT..

hahahahahahaha..

I don't think this price is good if you're looking for HDR.. the SONY 800d or 850D are much better for HDR, (they are smaller for the same price though)
