I am not sure if it was 25 or so years of playing, the extreme slowness during turns on a beefy PC, the changes to wonders, or the idea that I did not feel challenged by the game at all.

I think most people agree that the newer civ games are only good after a few DLCs and a ton of patches. Similar to a CA game, but it is sad.
Price is good, but consider watching game play and reading reviews before biting.

I've been playing civilization since Sid started the series and I could not get into it. The cartoonish feel did not bother me.

FWIW, if you buy this PC version and activate it on Steam, you can download and install the Mac version and the steamOS/Linux version vs buying them at full price.

I've been waiting for he price to come down on this game, but like many have said, there's something about the game... and it's not a good thing. I've also been playing the franchise since Civilization, but I'm gonna pass on this version. I may jump on it this time next year when it's $9.99. I think they have tried to hard to make the game work for consoles and that is why it kinda feels the way it does.

You mean actual frame rate drops? What are your PC specs?

good price, but most people recommend waiting until a few dlc come out. The biggest issue with this game is the Ai are awful. Maybe a few dlc will improve them, but this game has the worst ai players of any Civ game

This is much better than civ 4 or 5 was out of the box. If you like the civ games, I'd say they made enough improvements from 5 to make it worth $30. Idk what dlc they have planned tho. Civ BE only got one pack I think and then they abandoned development for civ 6.

Like someone said before this game takes a lot of patches to truly become something even worth the original price. Dumb AI is the biggest gripe.
