Buy discounted prepaid credit cards. Seems like these come up ever month or 2. https://slickdeals.net/f/10070532

That's one month's rent alone lol
Not every renter accepts credit cards and when they do, they often add a credit card fee

Plastiq offers it at 2.5% which is $25 in fees if you go that route. You're still $175 ahead. That's the worse case scenario. Monthly bills from groceries, gas, public transpo, subscriptions, utilities and services would be more than enough to cover $1k spend within 3 months.

The link directs me to the $200 rewards to apply, but when completing my application, states $150 rewards instead. Cancelled my application. Gonna hold out until that's figured out.
Yeah but you already took a hard injury hit for applying in the first place so you might as well go all through with it. You took a hard inquiry for nothing.

How does that compare to the chase?
I'm not aware of any Chase card that gives 2% cashback.

Then just pass on WF. Not a big deal. $200 is such a common signup bonus. You can get it anytime from any issuer.

Agreed. The Barclays CashForward card now offers $200 for $1k spend, common offer.

It looks like you have to also have a Wells Fargo bank account to redeem rewards. Is that the case?

Buy something from store, then return it for gift cards. Stores will be happy.
