BestBuy has the Western Digital easystore® 8TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive on sale for $199 with free shipping or store pickup.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/wd-ea.../5792401.p

What makes this drive special is that there is a Western Digital Red 8TB model WD80EFZX inside and the enclosure is easily shuckable. All that is required is a pry tool, a Phillips screwdriver for one screw and a #10 torx. Here is the removal of a 4TB https://m.imgur.com/a/EyJvD
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Back from the store. WD80EFZX (red) inside. Standard SATA connectors on drive. Nice.

Western Digital's Warranty Status page does recognize that its serial # as an easy store drive, so you will want to hang on to the case until April 2019.
How would we guarantee there would be a red in there? There should be. It's expected. Take that or leave it.
There are no anti-tampering stickers of any kind. To avoid gouging the plastic, I recommend starting with a fold-back (not breakaway) box cutter to start pulling back the shell and keeping every opened side wedged open with something while you go from tab to tab. Don't insert your prying tool too far because the inner tabs can be broken easily.

In addition to the image gallery shucking instructions, you have to pry back just the edge of the bottom half's middle side before you can slide out the ventilated section holding the hard drive. Just over a millimeter lip.

Is this any better than the Seagate 8tb w/ usb hub deal for $180?

Is it guaranteed to be a Red drive in there? Also, is it possible to stick the HDD back in the enclosure without any sign of tampering, for warranty purposes?

Only if you have a preference for WD over Seagate Wink That aside, it being a red drive is usually worth an extra $20. Except in this case, this red drive doesn't come with an extra year of warranty (3 for reds); so it comes down to whether or not you feel a red drive will last longer than a regular desktop drive.

I'm curious about this too -- been looking for some Red's to upgrade a NAS enclosure. Confused

I wouldn't expect that drive to support ERC just like I'm surprised this external has a drive with TLER, but it does (RAID stuff).

If you're planning on buying several of the same drive to put in a RAID configuration, I would go with this WD. Other than that, I've usually preferred WD more often than Seagate, but it matters less and you might just want to go with what's cheaper..
e: Also, I don't know what Seagate you're talking about and if it has standard SATA connectors and bla bla bla. I can't say what you should get because I don't know what you're looking for.
