Why would you not get this instead?

Thinking both Linksys AC5400 and Nighthawk X8, which one is the better choice?

Ever since Linksys was bought by Belkin it is second rate. I'd go for Netgear as they are better at firmware.

Up until recently I'd recommend Asus over both but their QC has been going into the toilet.

I landed up buying Linksys AC5400 last week. Major factor was included 3-Year Warranty and Tech Support, and in addition the Linksys Micro USB MU-MIMO Adapter is a plus. All of that for $249 is reasonable to me.

Now if only Verizon could get me the Ghz speed. Wink

I have the Linksys. Works very well, and i love the 8 Gigabit Ports on the back.
The only setback is, that it doesn't offer any VPN-Options.

Otherwise that think is great.

Netgear are a-holes who file frivolous lawsuits against private parties that resell their routers on Ebay so refuse to support them.

Was thinking about pulling the trigger but the Amazon reviews are beyond awful with horror stories.
