Their twitter says they will be having a 'surprise' for DNA day tomorrow. I'm waiting to see what that will be.

What morons downvoted this? This is a great product (although personally my favorite is AncestryDNA), and this is equal to the best price they've had in years (about the 3rd sale at this price in the last six months [and last 2+ years], but none lower).

Twitter deal looks like a sweepstakes for free tests.

Do you get the raw data files with the ancestry? That would be the easiest/cheapest way to plow through the data yourself.

According to the website [23andme.com], access to raw, uninterpreted genetic data is included for the $79 Ancestry kit.

Morons who don't want their DNA kept in some cloud server that can be hacked.

does this mean that you can go to promotheus and get the full disease susceptibility results?

Yes, Promethease ($5) can use the raw data from 23andme, plus other sites as well. Genetic Genie is free. Codegen dot eu is free. The Methylation/detoxification report is free on Nutrahacker. Athletigen generates a free athletic profile.

23andyou lists several 3rd party tools for your 23andme raw data.
