I am about to pull the trigger. Seems to be a good deal. Any reasons why not?

I have the 8 inch version and I have to say that the 2GB of RAM really kills this device. It does not feel good to use at all.

I bought the 8" version for $60 from MS Store during last Black Friday. It's ok, kinda slow, worth abt $60. If I paid more I would not be satisfied.

windows 10, even on 2GB ram, should be smooth. my old 8 inch DVP was very smooth despite slower processor.

Moreover, you can always use eMMC as paging medium. It shouldn't be as slow as disk

I would buy this if I wasn't stuck with a 11.6'' Yoga 700 that I bought open box from Best Buy that I can't seem to give away. I want a tablet the size of a regular iPad with removable storage to have for local media with a full HD screen. The Tab S2 would be good enough because it can replace my iPad and it has SD card support but there aren't any slickdeals for that device. As much as I like OLED this for $150 gets the job done. The tent mode on the Yoga has to suffice. At least the Yoga has better hardware not that it really matters for what I use it for.

On the 8 inch version you cannot charge and use USB OTG host at the same time. I couldn't keep even at 60$.

IMO, performance of ZTE Trek 2 (Android) and 8" Nuvision (Win10) are very comparable, at least, for my use case. And I am equally happy with both.

Nuvision running Win10 does not mean it will perform at par with a high powered Win10 laptop.

When I need heavier duty work, I don't expect any tablet (Android/Win10) to perform well; so, I sit with my laptop/desktop.

In my experience, iPad mini 4 (or Air/Pro) does much better in term of 'usable' performance. But the price range it awfully different and it is NOT going to be a fair comparison.

In addition to that on my similar device that I just sold (Venue 8 Pro) there was no HDMI output. That makes a world of difference to me.

I bought this back in december... then returned it after one day of use.
It may work out for some people... but ... it's really hard to find good use for it.

Here's a good reason:

No problem with the Microsoft store at all but NuVision is ridiculous to deal with for problems. I bought the 8" one on December 9th for $59 in a one day sale from $150. February 2nd, I pushed the on button to turn it on, (because that's what you do) , and the button stayed inside. Didn't come on. Couldn't push the button anymore or pull it out it just stayed pushed in. Called MS. Microsoft will only do an exchange within 30 days.

Nuvision has a 1 year warranty. Wow. Great. I'll just call them and send it and they'll fix it. WRONG. In speaking with their "outsourced" customer service who I can hardly understand, not being racist or xenophobic but I just couldn't, they told me that because it is the power button, they consider it "physical damage" and it's not covered by the warranty which I had almost 11 months left on.

They said to send it to them, I pay for shipping of course, and pay them $80 to fix it. The most asinine warranty in the business. Why would I even pay $80 plus shipping for something that has a warranty and only cost me $59??

Buyer beware. That's all I'm saying.

I have a laptop with the Z8300 Atom and 4gb of ram and even that struggles a bit, cant imagine using 2gb.

Still salty I missed the $48 Trek 2 HD deal. That was unbeatable when you considered the LTE modem and SD card support.
