Fortis makes solid watches, mostly with ETA movements. But the prices are not slick - they can easily be had for less in pre-owned market or even new ones. For example, 2 years ago Amazon had this watch for around $800 during their pre-Christmas sales: http://www.jomashop.com/fortis-wa...1-l01.html

Another FYI: Joma is NOT an authorized Gevril group retailer while Amazon is. Hence all Fortis watches purchased from directly from Amazon carry original Fortis warranty. If you purchase from Joma you will just get their own warranty.

Gevril has a group? Jeez, I remember when Gevril was verging on or going into bankruptcy. I suppose someone bought the name out of bankruptcy and bought up a bunch of near bankrupt watch brands.

Not sure who bought them but this is their front page: www.gevrilgroup.com [gevrilgroup.com]. It's a pity that Fortis brand now belongs with fashion watches but it's still light years better then being bought by Invicta like Glycine.

60-65% off is the standard price range for a Fortis on Jomashop.
