Nice. Didn't heard about debit redcard. But looks like a good option for me as I don't need a credit card for my minimal target shopping.

your cashiers are slacking, i got the debit card back in 2012 when the cashier first suggested it... it's amazing, and perfect for free shipping online. when the matresses go on sale, it waives the shipping and the extra handling fee, (together roughly 80 bux). i suggest it to everyone... eventually i got the credit card too, for free parking of possible returned merchandise, or if i do the return for a higher amount after finding it cheaper clearance elsewhwere or after i purcahsed.

i am tempted to get a card, as i rarely shop at target But i dont want it to sit around in my wallet for just free shipping. 5% is good too but for small shopping trips i dont think its worth it. idk i might eventually bite like for kohls which i am so thankful for ever since i opened it up 2 years ago during black friday !!

Such a shame when these deals pop up for something I already have. I've got the debit card and it works great for us. Not a lot of shopping, but taking tax off is nice when deals happen.

I'm a little confused. Does opening a new Target debit card mean I'm getting a new checking account? Or is it just a card that's linked to my existing checking account or debit card for another bank?

It's like a debit card you can only use at Target, it links to your existing

If the exclusions are correct it looks like it would work, though I don't see it excluding the switch either so it makes me wonder if they will amend this before the 7th.

My thoughts exactly to a T.

Is the debit card credit check still not a hard pull at the Big Three?

I applied debit card twice and both times I got denied. The reason they gave was I don't use much checks. Not sure what they meant by that. Any pointers from anyone to make target reconsider my application?

I hope not, but they don't even have the switch in stock in my area.

There are only been 1-2 people that have been denied a debit card out of the 40-50 or so I've set up. We really do not know why as a cashier because they do not give us that information, have you called the number on the letter you should get to get more information from it?
The only things I can think of is to make sure all the information on your driver's license is correct and current. If you are not using the same information that your bank has, that should deny you as well. I've had people denied in store because they moved and hadn't updated the information on their license to what they were typing in. If everything is as it should be, I wouldn't know anything else.
