Looking for cheap radio/streamer with Auxiliary output, woudl like Pandora

3,243 302 April 27, 2017 at 08:54 PM
I would like to be able to stream Pandora or another radio type service through Auxiliary outputs. Will need to be plugged in 24/7. Bonus points if you can control it remotely as this is going in an out of the way spot.

define cheap... Something like the Grace GDI-IRC6000 would do it (I think) - but it's $150 or so. I don't own one but considered it a while ago.

There's a smart phone app for remote use but I assume you must be on the same wifi network

Why do conservative politicians oppose conservation?
Have you ever stopped to think the long-term GOP immigration policy might be to make the United States of America a less desirable place to live than Mexico?

Are you using this for hold music or elevator/lobby music?

I would bet there is a raspberri pi project that will do this. Google "internet jukebox raspberry pi"

I don't have time or effort to build a raspberri pi or learn it

Most recent reason why everyone should be armed at all times:
Santa Fe, TX school shooting. 10 killed 10 wounded.
This was a gun free zone. The shooter didn't care. Gun free zones only hurt honest citizens. If someone was armed there could've been 1 less death.

I can't find any decent reviews of the chrome cast audio. Does it have to stay connected to a phone? I'm loooking for something that I can set aside and let it go.

your phone acts as a remote. once started the chrome cast audio will continue to play without the phone.

I got a Chromecast Audio hooked up. How can I set it up so I can leave with my phone? Right now it looks like I have to have the phone on the same network streaming. This isn't going to be possible at all time.

Depends on what you're streaming somewhat. If it's files on the phone, the phone will need to remain connected. If it's something on the net it should continue to play without your phone.

Worst case, buy some $5 prepaid android phone on sale and use it wifi only.

You can upload your music to google and steam it whenever you want.
