If you will only be using it for gaming, then you don't need to spend this much for either. An Intel i5 with 8 GB of RAM is more than enough for gaming (although 16GB would be nice to have).

Pre-built systems often skimp on the motherboard and power supply. And most OEM's (i.e. Dell, Acer, etc.) use proprietary components, which means you're ability to upgrade is very limited. In fact, the motherboard probably won't even fit in a standard ATX case. That means you can never move it to another case.

This is a $720 PC [amazon.com] that would perform within 5-10% of either of these machines with the majority of games. The RX 480 4GB is very similar in performance to the RX 480 8GB (approximately 2-5%) and easily outperforms the GTX 1050ti (by roughly 15-25%) Plus the 4GB of VRAM is more than enough for 1080p gaming. Higher resolutions, like 1440p or 4K, would definitely benefit from more VRAM. But 1080p gaming is the market for all of these cards. None of them will handle gaming at higher resolutions very well.

The CyberPower PC has all retail components which means expand-ability and upgrading will not be hampered (like the Dell's). Plus, it has a good quality Thermaltake 600 Watt power supply, not a lesser quality off-brand unit rated at 460 Watts or less. That means you can upgrade your graphics card in the future to Vega (when it releases) or a NVIDIA GTX 1070 and have plenty of power available in the Cyberpower PC. And it has a very good quality MSI motherboard.

Also, the CoolerMaster Case is very nice. It has a side window with LED fans (if you like that kind of thing). It is standard ATX which means you can build another computer with it in the future (unlike the Dell). It supports water cooling if you want to do that in a future build.

Upgrade it with 8GB of RAM (2x4GB) and a 128-256 GB SSD and you will still have spent less than either one of the Dell models. IMO, it is a better value. Although you do miss out on the Costco warranty. However, CyberPower PC offers a 1 year warranty and lifetime tech support.

Here is a good YouTube Playlist that details this PC. [youtube.com] HTH..Good Luck. Smilie

Was looking at this last night. Decent deal when you price out the components. What's interesting to me is that Dell.com is currently only selling the XPS with the 6th gen i7-6700. The 7th gen is only being sold in the XPS Special Edition line at Dell.

Solid deal with Costco warranty/protection.

The $999 option is a no brainer given it's rx480 v 1050ti, 24gb ram versus 16gb, and ssd versus hdd only.

Dang, I ordered a CyberPowerPC over the easter deals and still waiting. This looks comparable - more RAM, better video card, but 7700 vs 7700k on the CyberPowerPC.

Need it as a development box, than a gaming one, so graphics card doesn't matter too much (just need to drive a 4k monitor), the RAM will actually help.

I'm pretty sure the rx480 has multiple outputs (HDMI and DisplayPort) to run multiple monitors.

Looks like there's an hdmi and a display port on the image of the computer's back.
