If you do not already have the myq button you will need them as well. This worked on our craftsman openers made by chamberlain.
Liftmaster 888LM Security+ 2.0 MyQ Wall Control Upgrades Previous Models 1998 (and later) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B8BF...azb2ZS62RZ

BTW: smartthings can interface with these for triggers and such.

If you need the wall control and the gateway just to make it work that's not much of a deal. Why would they even sell them separately?

The new door openers come with MyQ compatible wall controls. The separate wall controls are for upgrading old systems. I love having the internet gateway and I paid 40+ for it. At 20 it's a no brainer if you have a compatible wall control already.

Ugh, just bought a Garadget recently, plus had to buy a button since my Chamberlain uses an encrypted opener. I think I spent about $80 total to achieve what this will do for $20. Maybe I can resell it. Thanks OP!

Is there an Apple HomeKit compatible garage door opener on the market yet? I know this was supposed to support it, but has it started to support it yet?

How's do you get this to work with smartthings? I have the myq garage opener sensor and unit but that's no longer supported by smartthings so I have to use a different app every time.

Thanks!

I have had the Liftmaster 888LM Security+ wall control for over 2 years now...I bought it on sale at Menards some time back because it has the delayed automatic timer to close the garage if I forget to. At the time I thought this gateway was too expensive. Now I can control it over my phone for just $20! Thanks!

I have a liftmaster from early 2000. do I need the separate piece as someone else said or will this work with it?

nevermind I guess the garage door or light needs to be myq compatible aka enabled or equipped.
