This is the new 2017 model with HDR added (something the KU6300 didn't have). It's priced at $550, but Amazon and Best buy have it for 449 right now with free shipping. This is the lowest I've seen it. Like I said, it hasn't been around long.

Was thinking of pulling the trigger on this and worried that posting might cause SD effect while I deliberate, but I gotta give back to the community. This would be my first good post if people like it woot I might even break 100 rep points drool

As many know, the Samsung lineup has been used by quite a few as a monitor because of 4:4:4 output, etc.

Also, in case you didn't know about model years for samsung tvs JU (2015), KU (2016), MU (2017).

Isn't 40 inches too small to really appreciate a 4K screen? I have heard that mostly 50+ is when it's worth it to pay for a 4K TV.

Yes and no (depending what you use it for and how close you are, but generally yes), but at this point, I wouldn't really bother buying a non-4K TV if you want to keep it more than a year or two.

Prices have dropped so much on them, the difference isn't what it used to be. Makes more sense to future-proof, IMO.

to the OP you out up some misinformation. the original KU6300/KU6290 have HDR, are cheaper & also have enhanced HDMI ports for 4:4:4

Why is this worth $150-$100 more than the KU6300 or KU6290 when they go on sale?

that's a good question. I've owned both so im just raising awareness. maybe the MU model has something special about it but it's not the feature I mentioned

Response time is far more important for a monitor than resolution or size. If it there is 200-300ms input lag you will hate using it. And that is for standard web/excel usage, if you want to use it for gaming/realtime stuff you need 20-80ms response time for it to feel fluid.

Add to that, this is a very typical retail price and in no way, shape or form a deal.

Feels more like rep whoring from an inexperienced SDer. Anyone care to explain why they're thumbing this up?

2017 Samsung TV line up is worse then there 2016. They are straight up scamming this year.

ku6300 has hdr and 10 bit panel just not a wide color gamut or hdr standard brightness.
