Darksiders Fury's Collection - War and Death [microsoft.com] - $20 (60% off)

In celebration of the announcement of Darksiders III, Darksiders: Fury's Collection - War and Death presents Darksiders Warmastered Edition and Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition in one package at one great value. The perfect compilation for longtime fans of the franchise and players new to Darksiders, players will take on the role of War - the first, most powerful and most eratic Horseman of the Apocalypse and Death, the most feared and legendary of the Horsemen.
Note: It says this is normally $40 but it was just released yesterday at the sale price. Up to that point, the two items were $50 when bought separately so that is how I calculated 60% off. If this is bad math, I'll change the %.

I happened to finish Darksiders II just a few weeks ago. I have to say, I liked the 1st part better for one reason - it's brevity. Darksiders 2 was definitely more ambitious, but they went overboard in adding content. There was so much filler padding. The game was too huge, and in the latter half, much of it was just a laborious chore. Too many repetitive fetch quests and side quests. After about midway, your weapons become upgraded enough that the game ceases to pose a challenge.

The dungeons in the game were good though, with some good puzzles. The action RPG mechanics are very good. Unfortunately, the needless length made it a boring game at times. I googled this and saw many threads on steam and other forums with people having the same complaint. And some high impact reviews mentioned this too.

The bundle is also available on PS4 for $20 right now and the Steam versions are being sold individually for 80% off ($4 and $6 respectively).

Despite the thumbs down, actually a good question. I'm going to guess this isn't one of the "buy it digitally and you can play on Win10 and Xbone" games as it isn't on the page anywhere. I think only big budget titles from MS are part of that initiative.

yeah I agree that's why I never finished the 2nd one. I thought maybe it was just me after how highly everyone talks about both games, so I decided to to get the remastered version and try playing through again.

Weren't the standard Xbox 360 versions of these free with game with gold fairly recently? Is the graphics update and extra content worth the purchase?

I got this bundle for PC pretty cheap a while back, maybe $5? Found the first game overly repetitive and never finished it.
