Actually, Amazon is price-matching Walmart here. Walmart price is $115.77 after pickup discount, which is what Amazon has started price-matching to. This is part of a price war cycle I've detailed extensively in it's own thread. Based on recent activity, the price on this item will drop by $4-5/day (Walmart first, then Amazon) until one store sells out.

I've had this set for at least four years now. It's served me very well... I paid about the same amount for it on a sale back then...

If it drops to under $100 then maybe I'll bite. I've been wanting to make the switch from my 3 year old Craftsman 2 cycle trimmer to cordless electric. I already own the 40v hedge trimmer from Black+Decker.

The new model (LCC340C) of this combo is on sale at Lowe's for $119 before any 10% or 15 off 50 coupons out there. https://www.lowes.com/pd/BLACK-DE...1000178367.

Damn, been waiting on a deal for an extra 40 volt battery but it might be worth buying this set just to sell what I don't need. I can vouch for the 40 volt line. Have the hedger and the string trimmer for almost 2 years now. No issues, decent battery life, and enough power for standard yard maintenance we are on about a 3/4 acre. Anyone that can vouch on the blower? I have the corded model, but it's such a pain when it snags.

Does it come with battery? My decker blower has crapped out its switch, have to hit by hand to turn it on. It's 4,5 year old and all 3 decker battery I bought are about to die by now.

I'm not seeing any difference. What did they change?

Blower is more of a "sweeper". It's prefect for blowing grass off my sidewalks and driveway after mowing. Don't expect it to blow leaves in grass. I have a gas one for that. Overall I love the combo. I bought a second trimmer in case mine ever dies and so I can have two batteries. I was worried they'd be tough to get when the big box stores stopped carrying it to carry their own brands. Btw, this is the same as 36V. B&D jumped on board with the others when it became a marketing war. They peak at 40V but the nominal voltage is lower for all of them. None of that matters though, these are great tools for average yards.

I bought the older set (LCC140) from Amazon at $111, but almost cancelled to get the new set (LCC340C) from Lowe's. However, after doing some reading, I've decided to keep the LCC140. The primary feature differences are that both tools in the LCC140 (LST136/LSW36) have adjustable power settings, but the tools in the LCC340C (LST140/LSW40) are lighter (trimmer: 6.4 vs 7.8lb, sweeper: 4 vs 4.7lb). There are many reviews of the older set (and individual tools), overall positive.

From the photos, it looks like the handle on the older trimmer is adjustable and the new one is fixed. The new trimmer is 6500RPM and the old is 6500/8500 RPM, selectable. Not many reviews on the new trimmer, but they are all positive.

There aren't many reviews on the new sweeper either, but they're all very negative - one specifically mentions the previous 40V sweeper was better. The new sweeper has a slightly higher speed spec, but the reviews don't really support better performance.

In short, the older set seems to have better power, features, and reviews. I'd only recommend the new set if you want the lighter weight.

Thanks for the heads up, but looks like the older set is better for me anyway.

I got my new model LCC340C set yesterday and gave them a test today. I am very happy with the tool set. I cannot say much about the trimmer as this is the first one I owned. It trimmed down the wild grass in our front yard quickly ~20min, better than my expectation. My only regret is not owning it sooner. For the sweeper, I made an apple to apple comparison to my old model (same as the Amazon one) using the same battery. First of all, there is no noticeable difference in terms of "sweeping" power. One big difference is new model is much quieter and because of its smaller body size and lighter weight it is much easier to handle. The new model is missing one feature: a dial that can change the blowing speed. This is something I can definitely live without since I mostly running at full speed. It is worth to mention that the new set came with a fast charger (2 hrs version), which is good to have. If I have to choose again I will go for LCC340C for sure.

Thanks for the review. The fast charger is certainly a nice upgrade.
