Best Buy Exchange Policy - Beats Headphones

-4 Deal Score
1,206 Views
Hey there,

So right now Best Buy has a flash sale on Beats headphones. I've wanted a pair for ages, and now with them at $180, I think time is to strike.

Thing is: I really don't want Rose Gold as my color. I'd prefer Silver or Black.

My question to you: Would I be able to purchase them at $180, and be able to exchange in-store for a pair that is a different color but the same series? (Basically, will they charge me more since I got a deal on the Rose Gold ones specifically).

I tried going through their exchange policy and found nothing. Help meh, please Smilie

Thank you!

If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Are you new to shopping in general ?

It is very common for a retailer to put just a specific color/style for sale on an item. Obviously a "sales" purpose is to move inventory for that particular item/color. If they wanted to move inventory for more than just that one color....they would have offered it.

The reason you probably didn't find anything in the exchange policy is because your request is nonsensical. They are different colors, different UPC's, etc.

I am not new to shopping, but I am fairly new to Exchanges. I understand the point of specific colors being on sale and all that, but as you should be aware, a site like this is key at exploiting loopholes in the system. I was asking essentially if there was a loophole to get the color I want through exchanges.

I think it's actually a terribly sensible question. I want a pair of Silver Beats, they're offering Rose Gold Beats today at a cheaper price. I buy them, and then exchange later for the exact same series line but a different color. My thought-process may've been wrong, but nonsensical is just insulting to me.

No, it was just a terrible question to begin with.

You also state you understand that merchants usually only offer certain colors for special sales but then go on with more nonsensical talk.

So your options are to be either secure enough with your sexuality to sport Rose Gold headphones.....or wait for a sale on a color you like.

Did you comment on this just to fulfill some need of belittling someone today? (Well, at least attempting to).

You don't know my sexuality. Why would you even consider that a factor? Did you read somewhere that it would be witty to throw that line in because the color Pink is a factor?

Now buzz off. A simple "No, doesn't work that way" would've been fine rather than this dog and pony show to convince me that you're brilliant and I am an idiot (Which again: Why bother?)

Different color means different model numbers. Any basic human being who's ever bought anything would know exchanges have to be of the identical product.

Or "No, doesn't work that way"

If the silver or black are on sale at the time you exchange the rose gold, you can get the sale price for them. If they aren't, then you can't.

The only time they can do an even exchange is if you have a defective item with the exact same sku/upc; otherwise it is a return and repurchase and you have to repurchase at the current selling price.

Ignore the trolls.

Not true for many clothing items. You an exchange for a different size and keep the sale price.

Doesn't mean they have the same item number

Correct and that was my point - it's not an across the board thing like vsauce claimed. In some instances you are in fact allowed to exchange items for different items. Vsauce said you can never do that, well that is wrong.

However, in the case of BB, you can't do it. Each retailer gets to set their own policies.

We are not talking about clothing....we are talking about electronics. It is (for all practical purposes) across the board for electronics.

Has really nothing to do with BB and is standard practice when dealing in electronics (and particular sales for specific colors). No reason for you to debate....just for debates sake.

Nope, each retailer sets their own policy. I have stated what BB's is but if you assume all retailers follow the same policy, you would be wrong.

Nope. Show an electronics example of where you can get a sale price on a specific color and then exchange it for a color that wasn't ever offered on sale.

I'll be waiting. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

As normal, you have nothing. Thank you for proving my point.
