For its anniversary, Tello is giving a 90% OFF deal for newcomers, jaw-dropping offer valid between 4-10 May 2017, for any phone plan of $10 or more. Just use the code – BDAY – at the checkout & enjoy! And this is just the frosting on the cake since more goodies have been planned! http://blog.tello.com/news/tello_...ry_offers/

90% Off Newcomers: https://tello.com/buy/custom_plans?_coupon=BDAY

Also, if you are already a customer, you get 25% off any plan over $15, by using the code 1BDAY at checkout, between 5-8 May 2017,

25% Off Current Customers: https://tello.com/buy/custom_plans?_coupon=1BDAY

*OP note, I'm assuming applies to first month only. I've been with them for several months. Easy switch from Ringplus, same phone and Paygo rates are competitive. 3c voice, 1c text, 2c MB. Mix and match plans and paygo as needed. Minimum top off has increased from $5 to $10 now.
Paygo rates are
US Calls 3¢/min
US Texts 1¢/SMS
US Data 2¢/MB

PAYGO never expires, rolls over with one usage every six months, as cheap as it gets.

FREE Swaps and FREE Tether!

USE APP for WIFI calling, but it counts towards minutes, good for poor coverage.

Mix your plan with Pay As You Go for international calling.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Tello video review https://youtu.be/kRZzrdxomRA

Tello is a fully customizable, contract-free provider offering service on Sprint's nationwide network. Besides shunning contracts, Tello also steers clear of overages, activation and termination fees, and other surprise costs – and all plans come with unlimited 64kbps data in addition to your high-speed data inclusions.

The flexibility of Tello's service makes it ideal for customers who find their cell phone use fluctuates from month-to-month, or for light and occasional phone users. You're not locked into a plan where you'll pay for services you don't use or need every month, and you'll be free to switch around your talk, text and data amounts whenever necessary.

Great company and customer service.

Data is/was unlimited 64kb after the 200 MB LTE, which is enough for voip calling and slow speed data (email and lite web browsing, for me anyway. YMMV).
Looks like first month for a $10 plan is $1
Details:
" $1
$3-100 minutes - US, Canada & Mexico
$2.70-Coupon code: BDAY

$3-Unlimited text
$2.70-Coupon code: BDAY

$4-200 MB
$3.60-Coupon code: BDAY

Next billing date: 06/03/2017 "

I haven't used up my 200MB plan to test it but it's unlimited 64kbps https://www.whistleout.com/CellPh...less-plans

After that, it's $60/mo? That's way too much. I will guess I will stick with swapping out a Mintsim every 3 month for $50.

I will remove it or downgrade the plan for the second month for sure.

Yes it's really easy to manage, even a monkey can do it. The paygo balance never expires with a call every few months. I think it's 6mos but who goes that long without a call?

That promo could end any time now. I was originally supposed to end in December. You might want to consider just buying the 1 yr plan. The promo for that is probably still good. Comes to the same amt per month. Just search SD for the code. I think it might be SHOPCLEVER

not one cent in fees of any kind, that's why I love paygo. I still have the same balance 3 months later on some phones in reserve.

I'm also paying them for a plan and added some top off for text. 100min, 200MB, unlimited2g for$9/mo. There might be cheaper plans out there but not with this flexibility and service.

I have Obitalk at home so just need a cell phone on the go or on job site. Put those fancy R+ phones on the paygo until something better comes along.

i was hoping i'd like it. the price is certainly good.
but it's not working well for me.

i just have 500mb of data and paygo now, down from 1gb.
i really wanted to use the data for googlevoice but i can almost never connect.
(it seemed even worse when i had the tello app on my phone. since i uninstalled it,
i can connect maybe 20% of the time, before that it was 5%)
Its not that i'm out of data and trying to connect with the 64k. i have 300+mb left

i had two phones on ringplus - one i have on ting but it's too expensive so i was planning on quitting after my $35 runs out. on the ting phone, even though i thought it's the same sprint data as my tell, i can make calls through google voice. i also had no trouble on ringplus

does any one have any last suggestions for me?

When Ringplus headed south, I opted for Tello. For us personally, we have been very pleased. We are not big talkers but use the texting and data alot. When we have talked on the phone, it is way better quality than what we had with Ringplus.

What I really love about Tello is that if you pick a plan and upgrade or downgrade before the monthly renewal date, the remaining amounts in each bucket from the previous renewal roll over for 30 days. We mostly switch between data plan amounts to keep rolling and it has worked out very well for us. We haven't tested the throttle yet because we haven't run out of data in any month yet. Downsides are there is a minimum of $6 per plan and each phone needs a separate account and email.

We also keep some extra funds on the account to pay by the minute for talking ($0.03/min). Also, you can choose to accept the throttle once you run out of data or pay for overages out of funds on account.

We mostly use wifi so this may not work well for everyone. If you use massive amounts of talk, text or data, you are probably better off with another plan but if you are a somewhat minimal user, this can be relatively inexpensive. We probably use 750mb per month, 60 minutes of talk and 300 texts. We average around $10 per month in charges for each of us.
