I tried using the new dialog and can't add product pictures to my deal post. What am I doing wrong?

I noticed that today as well. No paper clip option or manage attachments sections to add pics from urls - looks like the only option is to download to your computer and then upload (PITA!) I think the tags section and a few other things were removed as well...not sure why they did that at all. Only way I could post with all the info/pics I wanted was to switch to Classic View.

What kind of error or issue are you running into?

I would drag the item from the original webpage onto the area in the slickdeals post box and release the image and nothing happened that I could see. Later I saw two of the 4 images I dragged onto the page were finally appearing on the final post. When I first did it there was nothing there. When I did drag it the left scorecard indicating the totality of your post in percentage would not check mark the image box. Is there a tutorial on this somewhere? Obviously this looks like an incredibly simple task which is why I am so baffled.

Hello,

Thanks for the feedback.

Currently, we do not support dragging images directly from the product page into the form but this is something we'll consider implementing in the future. If you provide a deal URL we attempt to grab product images and display them in a container for you to pick and choose which image(s) to upload.

If you're on windows, click Choose File and when the file browser pops up just paste the url and upload it normally.

Of the other stuff we removed, what feature or fields were you using?

Ahhh...very helpful on the picture part. I do use tags sometimes, especially because people like seeing coupon or free shipping. I also just noticed messing around with things that when you do preview post it shows the preview with the full URL coding of a link instead of just the hyperlink word like it did before. Now I'm sure it would probably change when posted, but it's helpful to see it as the hyperlink word in the preview to make sure you didn't miss a quotation mark or bracket, etc Last suggestion for now is to make the "are you sure this isn't a repost text" at the bottom stand out more like in the old version so people, especially newer posters, know to search before posting to make sure it hasn't already been posted

I did try the click "choose file" but since I didn'r save the image file url in that folder it couldn't work. As the new instructions said to I simply tried to drag the image file onto the deal post and it wouldn't let me.

I am having same issue with trying to attach a picture to a new thread. Drag & Drop from Windows desktop does not work, nor does the file browser..... I am wondering is this java based? I usually have java disabled to avoid drive-by malware.... I got around it by creating a wiki and then using the old paper clip method....

Windows 7 PC, Chrome browser.

No, its just javascript (not be confused with Java). If you use the Choose File, it just does nothing after you select the file?

Yup, nada. I should clarify: it lets me browse and choose my pic, but there is nothing to indicate it is being uploaded. Same happens with drag and drop; I see the picture when I am dropping it but then nothing happens.

I would just like to say that I can't get this to work either. It lets me choose my photo but nothing uploads.
