Not as good as the deal in April with 200 cash card, but this is the best deal for Tmobile Samsung S8 at the moment.

Wish I could just buy outright instead of a payment plan.

So how does this work. Do i go to costco and buy a tmobile phone and then all i have to do is activate the sim card with my number and i then get the gear vr and $150 gift card. what do they mean by device payment activation. does it mean you need to buy it on a payment plan and you cant pay for it in full.

I never understand these comments. It's quite simple actually, buy the phone on a payment plan and pay it off through care right away. Or wait for the unlocked version to release.

it makes a lot of sense-payment plan means another credit inquiry...

cell phone providers fall into the utility categories, so they fall into the soft pull. I've never seen and inquiry for a cell phone company on my credit report, and I've gone from AT&T to T-Mobile to Verizon back to T-Mobile in the last 18 months.

I wish T-Mobile would lead the pack and do their 3 lines/$100 again and toss in $300 off S8 or something (and skip the VR headset)

I'm pretty sure the comment was meant to be taken in context of this deal i.e. pay full price at Costco and get a $150 Costco cash card back.

Unless you get a no credit check plan, T-Mobile does a hard pull for postpaid regardless of whether you're buying a phone or not. Here a third party (Costco) is involved, but since the hardware is T-Mobile's and money is still remitted to the phone company every month, I don't see T-Mobile waiving the credit inquiry.

This is not true, at least at T-Mobile. In fact, T-Mobile has been sued [topclassactions.com] for misrepresenting its credit checks.

Should also qualify for the new Entertainment pack promo (6 months Netflix + 64 GB SD card), Not sure if you can do both Gear VR and the entertainment pack.

It's either one or the other.

Edit. Read the wiki in this post... https://slickdeals.net/f/10116752-buy-samsung-galaxy-s8-s8-get-64gb-microsd-6mo-netflix-case-free-valid-through-5-16?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1

Seems like someone missed the boat on the March "One Line On Us" promo and looking to crawl back to get it. I wish we can dictate our own deals and get $300 off. The $200 Costco GC deal last week was what Costco was offering. The Gear VR headset is a separate promo that Samsung is doing. Expecting Samsung to combo the $200 Costco plus getting rid of its own VR to get $300 off total is crazy.
