Seems like a good price, but be prepared for people to hate that it's the 16gb versions. And may want to add "YMMV" to title, as none are available near me.

That's for the iPhone 6, not 6S or 6S Plus. The link is also for the AT&T model, not Straight Talk.

Only a SIM free model subject to the US Reseller Flex Policy. For walmart, that is what the iPhone 6s/6s+ are.

Walmart sells the SIM free iPhone 6s/6s+ subject to the US Reseller Flex Policy. That means these phones will follow the unlocking policy of the US carrier whose SIM is used for the initial activation. Since Verizon postpaid phones are unlocked, if you use a Verizon postpaid SIM card for the initial activation, the iP6s/6s+ sold by Walmart will be unlocked.

You can use an active Verizon postpaid SIM card and activate over cellular data or you can use an inactive Verizon postpaid SIM card and activate over WiFi or through iTunes on a computer connected to the internet. The activation requires communication with Apple's activation servers and data transfer, which of course requires a connection to the internet either through cellular data or WiFi or iTunes/computer.

I would not use a Verizon prepaid SIM for the initial activation because the phone could end up locked to Verizon prepaid.

NO OTHER SIM BUT A VERIZON POSTPAID SIM WILL WORK FOR THIS PURPOSE. IT MUST BE A VERIZON POSTPAID SIM.
