Excellent deal on sets of dumbbells at Walmart. There are also pickup discounts on sets of dumbbells 60lbs+.

Note: The weight options are for the total combined weight as noted by user "unidentified" a few posts down. So selecting 50lbs, would actually be 2x 25lb dumbbells. Walmart has since made this more clear and updated the product page with this message:
Quote :
PLEASE NOTE: "Assembled Product Weight" is the total weight for each dumbbell set. For the weight of each dumbbell individually, please divide by 2.

Example: "Assembled Product Weight" is 60lb, meaning the set includes two 30lb. dumbbells.

Note that the weight given is for the combined set of 2 dumbbells, so the 50lb set is 2 25-pound dumbbells, for example.

Thanks for this. I was about to order a set that would have been very disappointing

Really? If so, the product page does not make that clear.

This answer to a customer question also contradicts that:
"A.Hi There. It will depend on the pair you choose; However, if you choose the 5lb pair, each dumbbell will be 5lbs. If you choose the 50lb pair, each dumbbell will be 50lbs and so on.
by CAP Barbell ProductExpert8/25/2015"

Will be sure to complain and ask for a refund if it is indeed the combined weight.

Edit: You do appear to be correct, as it says this in the product description: "Cast iron dumbbells available in 5 to 50 lb pairs." The product page needs to be updated to make it more clear that the weight options are the total combined weight.

I checked with customer service rep and indeed the price is for a pair - just like what "unidentified" has mentioned above.

Yeah. At first though, I was under the impression that selecting 50lbs would be a pair of 50lb dumbbells, but it appears to go by total weight, so it would actually be 2x25lb dumbbells.

I guess I will wait and see what the shipping weight is.... if it's 1/2 the weight then I guess Walmart gets to eat the shipping after I refuse it.

Their inflated prices also make you think the price is for 2x the weight stated. So, maybe it's best to let it come, call the CSR after and maybe they will knock it down further?

Agreed. We also may be able to argue the fact that a CAP Barbell rep themselves provided wrong info when answering a customer's question.

Price back to normal? Was trying to grab 80s and 90s (2x40 and 2x45s) and price shows a regular price. (?)

Maybe Amazon, since they wouldn't bother to have these shipped back. But Stonemart will not entertain any knock downs and will make you lug the weights all the way back to the store for a return.

If you do wanna try, order the 120s and have them pay for these to be shipped out to you at least.

Not necessarily true. I purchased a computer case from Walmart.. maybe 6 months ago and they sent me the wrong one and I had no issue with paying shipping.

In this case, it would also have been the wrong item sent.
