@John. It is locked to Boost Mobile. They will only carrier unlock it after you've been their customer for a year. However, you could always get a code from an unlocking service online for 20-30 bucks, so yes, you can put a tmobile sim in it Smilie.

@Smelly: That's a question for chase.

Can't find a listing on ebay right now for Boost S8. Can you please post? Also has it actually worked for anyone yet? Definitely don't want to get the phone and be stuck with it on Boost for a year...

I'm waiting for the price to come down to 500-550 to pull the trigger, but it is quite simple to unlock a phone yourself:

There are others too, just search 'third party unlocking service'

Boost phones have special unlock requirement - they will only unlock if you are on a Boost plan for 1 year because the price is subsidized/discounted. They are not subject to the general rules you kept posting. If you have a specific link for a third-party service that can actually unlock the Boost S8, please post that specific link.

You are perfectly capable of finding third party unlockers and clicking a few buttons on their website to see if they have the capability to unlock it. I've checked and there are a few sites.

I think this is a pretty good deal if the phone can be unlocked for cheap. In fact I think it is better than the costco T-Mobile deal. You pay about $800 after tax, then they give you $150 gift card, so the effective price is $650 from that deal. Of course, you can get VR or Netflix, unfortutately, both are useless to me, so, $0 value.
