Considering that Apple just discontinued the iPad Air, this might be pipeline-clearing in anticipation of discontinuing the MacBook Air line.

If a MacBook Air is what you need, then this is a deal for you. Just don't be surprised if it gets discontinued in the next few weeks.

Honest question (that has probably been asked many times before).. I'm a well-versed PC user. I have used a few Macs in the past here and there, but never as my main computer. I'm a little skeptical about switching over since I'm so used to PCs and unclear about what exactly will be life-changingly better. Has anyone out there made the switch and really love it (or regret it)?

It is very much depends on what you do on you PC. I did switch about 3 years ago and I am never even look at windows PCs now. On the rare occasion when my friends/family ask me to set up their PCs for any reason, I experience enough negative emotions and superhappy to return to my macbook.

they each have their advantage, hard to give you a straight answer. for reference, i have 1 windows desktop, 1 windows laptop, and 1 macbook pro. i use all 3 daily.

i can definitely say, for a normal average non-technical user, Mac is probably easier and more user friendly as it's more stable and just simpler

I recently transitioned from a Windows based Laptop to the Macbook Pro 15" for work. Considering I was using a developer edition laptops (W540, Z-Book), the MBP was awesome in terms of capability, lightness/build quality, and battery life. It wasn't really a fair comparison since the MBP was that much better than the Lenovo/HP developer models (but this was a few years ago).

Having said that, I also have a MacBook Air as a personal laptop. And i find myself going to a Lenovo Yoga 14 more for a few reasons at home. Most notable of the reasons is that the 128GB SSD is really really small. And to upgrade would cost hundreds of dollars. Also the the non-retina screen looks pretty outdated these days.

You have to be really dumb if you cannot use a windows machine. It's all marketing about macs to make them cool. And I own one so not being biased

I switch to Mac Air ( 2 weeks ago Ebay deal - macbook air at $749) based on all my friends recommendation.. I have been regretting simce I switch and do not get the logic of all the love - I am a light user; usually browse and type few emails, word docs for personal use..

- 1st biggest thing there is NO backspace button ???? Sounds like a nonissue but crazy incovenience when you used to it..

- Chrome browser works crazy slow.. reminds me the web browsing from 5-10yrs ago

- and I still did not discover what is easier on Mac vs Windows ???

I am seiously considering returning it paying almost $150+ restocking fee

i think the bestbuy applecare refund of few weeks ago was a better deal? I believe the macbook air was $699 and the rest are $100 cheaper across the board as well because of it.

Delete button functions as backspace on macs

Shouldn't be that slow on chrome... not sure why yours is so slow, maybe issue with hardware. Chrome loads fine for me, not slow at all unless lots of tabs are open.

If you don't mind it, you can use a SD card as an external for your MBA. I put in a 128gb one to double my storage
