OK.

The first time I posted this deal, All-New Fire HD 8 Tablet, 8" HD Display, Wi-Fi, 16 GB - Includes Special Offers $69.99 FREE Shipping at Amazon, I bought a blue one, posted the Hot Deal, waited an hour and bought a black one while everyone was 'thinking' about it. Embarrassment

The deal lasted just over an hour, hardly anyone besides me got one, everyone was mad and gave me TDs. Go figure... Confused

The second time...All-New Fire HD 8 Tablet, 8" HD Display, Wi-Fi, 16 GB - Includes Special Offers $69.99 FREE Shipping at Amazon...was a bit better. Wink

Here's your third chance! bulb

P.S. Again, I posted this as fast as possible, cut-n-paste. Added the image and extra verbage via edit.

Good Luck! Smilie

I'm sorry, but you little whiners are in your own little worlds. shake head

There are a TON of folks gladly paying $89.99 for a *FIRST* tablet that 'guides them through' the whole 'hold-a-computer-in-your-hand'concept. It's fine if you need the processing power of an Intel Xeon with a Passmark of 10,000+ to view your pron (or whatever you need to do with YOUR tablet), but, IMHO, these are decent little *INEXPENSIVE* tablets.

Back during the last holiday season, this retired 'Old Tinkerer', who started out building computers from kits advertised in Popular Electronics and Radio Electronics magazine:Netronics Super Elf II w/ RCA COSMAC 1802 CPU, 256 BYTES of Static RAM, HEX keypad, 7-segment red LEDs for Address Bus and Data
Digital Research Big Board w/ Zilog Z-80 CPU, 64K of Dynamic RAM, ASCII keyboad, B/W monitor...up until recently didn't see the 'draw / attraction' of smartphones and tablets. I have a 'decade old' flip phone (like Jethro Gibbs on NCIS) under T-Mobile's Prepaid Gold Plan - I paid $100 for 1000 minutes and for the next xx years, I pay $10/yr for 35 more minutes, IIRC (Thanks to SlickDeals, multiple flip phone purchases and good timing on my part, my current balance is 1052 minutes or $148.48 USD.).

Anyhow, back to the tablets, I bought:Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70F @ $139.99 for myself (*BEAUTIFUL* display)
Amazon Fire HD 8 @ $59.99 for my wife (her *FIRST* contact with computers!)
Amazon Fire 7 @ $33.33 for myself (to fool around with)============================================================
@Hxx,

I'll agree that the Fire 7 is *SLOW*. And the 8GB of RAM gets used right up because nothing seems to want to be stored on the SanDisk 32GB microSD card I put in it. *BUT*, I drop it into my ShopRite cloth shopping bag when I go shopping and I find many stores have FREE WiFi. I use the 'el-cheapo' camera to take pictures of things instead of writing down notes on a pad and I have NO DATA USAGE charges like the majority of folks using smartphones for these same tasks; i.e. flip phone to make calls, $33 tablet for everything else.

I use the Lenovo daily, but I'm so afraid of dropping it (i.e. the screen looks like a piece of glass, ready at any moment to shatter into hundreds of tiny pieces) that during the last Fire HD 8 sale I bought a Black and a Blue @ $54.99ea for myself (I bought my wife the Magenta since she loves pink). I also bought a 2nd Fire 7 @ $39.95 from HSN but this one has 16GB RAM and a case; when I get a 'Round Tuit', I'm going to attempt to flash the original 8GB Fire 7 with the Nexus ROM image. If I can't, I may try flashing the newer 16GB Fire 7 or I may just leave it 'as-is'. With 802.11n access to my LAN, they can be used to remotely control devices / view WiFi cameras, etc... (Yeah, they're slow! But *CHEAP*!! Smilie )
.
@xxxHolic,

How in the world is $64.99 overpriced? And, once I install the Google Play Store, I have access to *ALL* the apps a normal Android OS has access to. And, WTH do I need a SIM card slot for when I have my trusty flip phone? Confused
.
@monkeybiz,

Sure, the Fire OS is more limited than an Android OS - *BUT*, just like razors and TiVos, their intention is to get your money *AFTER* your initial purchase. So, if you DO NOT purchase any additional Amazon items / books / videos / MP3s, you're ahead of the game.BOTTOM LINE: Sure, this tablet isn't for you. But, you don't have to come and crap on this thread - just "Move along, these aren't the droids you're looking for..." Cool

I also would rather buy a iPad mini 2 for the mythical price of $100 then resell it for the real price of $250.

i think i got about 200 free apps from amazon underground... good deal if you been taking advantage of that (i have a fire stick, and it lets me get the non-compatible apps).

I think underground is going away soon, so snag those free apps while they last.
