Since you dont comment often, I think you also deserve a reply.

Like the US has range of brands for different customer segments, from dollar stores to the costco's India also has mixers for its customer segments based on their affordability. Because you or your family brought a cheap branded one, dont blame entire "desi" or "Indian" brand as you call it.

My mom used Sumeet brand for non stop 18 years until it was forcefully retired. I used Sumeet for more than a decade. On my last trip to India I brought Morphy Richards because it is light weight. I had a Bajaj brand which lasted for 5 years before the jars failed. Yes blades need to be sharp to crush the pulses and grains. None of American blenders as they call technically are designed for Indian food cooking. Oh I use a regular 1500W 220v/110v transformer for these devices to operate here and they just work fine.

So pls ask your relatives whoever gifted you cheap brands to bring you renowened ones from India on their next visit Smilie

Get Blendtec or Vitamix. Both of them are leaps and bounds better than Indian mixer.

This one is meant for grinding grains n pulses unlike vitamix or blendec which are multipurpose....not fair to compare apples with oranges 😊

ok after an hour and half google research - Pretthi 'the make' is owned by Philips now and ISRE managed to launch 104 satellites in one go, why not a blender.

I'll get my beloved oyster blender for $ 30. this would be the 4th one. my cat loves to pee on kitchen appliances.
I think you start looking for a new cat /j
