Note that the so-called "USB 3.1 gen 1" ports are only 5gbps, which means they're just USB 3.0 with a type C plug. There are no true high speed 3.1 or Thunderbolt ports on this laptop, which combined with the non-upgradeable RAM makes it hard to justify the premium price.

U series is always only dual core. It's quite hard to find quadcore not on a gaming specific laptop.
RAM is soldered on. Non user upgradable.
The screen is IPS and nearly 4k, they are pretty darn nice. Same one used in their other ENVY 13" laptops.

I see both the links working. I am not sure of your reference to "Bad Item links".

What he or she means is the link needs to take us to the page with the price listed, not the current price - example this link - linked [samsclub.com]

It's a none issue though given the situation (in the future)

QHD on a 13" screen? Is there a noticeable difference?

that seems to be the case, that sucks. I just bought the 15" Envy with 1TB which I plan to upgrade to SSD its not a PCIe® NVMe™ M.2, but I can upgrade my ram which for me is a must. I paid $699 for mine and the 3200 x 1800 resolution to me is kinda of off-putting.

Memory (RAM): 8 GB LPDDR3 SDRAM (onboard)
Maximum Memory Expansion: Memory slot not accessible

Honestly at $750 i would have bought it, but without the extra RAM it is basically useless. I bought a computer 4 years ago with 8GB of RAM.

Does anyone know
- if the processor is dual or quad core
- if the RAM is replaceable
- if the screen and build quality is as good as advertised

Please let me know!
dual core
https://ark.intel.com/products/95...-3_50-GHz-

RAM is not replaceable

From a technicians perspective that does repair on laptops HP Envy's, in particular, are very durable, but one thing I've seen them come in for repair for are hardware issues "internal" issues like screen/led or hdd or water damage
